"Everyone has a listening-point somewhere. It does not have to be in the north or close to the wilderness, but some place of quiet where the universe can be contemplated with awe."

Passage from Listening Point by Sigurd Olson

With BWCAW permits getting harder to come by, be more accommodating to others and less independent. Take advantage of the nine-person/four boat limits. Ask your friends to join you on your permit. Share your Boundary Waters experience!

CWCS encourages all visitors to the Boundary Waters to leave no trace. If you packed it in, pack it out.

Let family and friends know of your Boundary Waters travel plans.

Get involved! CWCS needs the input of our members on public land and water issues. Help us determine the direction you want CWCS to go in the 21st century and what issues to tackle. Increased fuel loads on the forest floors throughout the Boundary Waters, along with dry conditions have created unusually high fire dangers in the Boundary Waters. PLEASE be careful with your campfires! Make sure they are completely out when breaking camp.
