Immediately north of the BWCAW, La Verendrye Provincial Park is a water park that boasts the same extraordinary beauty and paddling found throughout the Boundary Waters. The park is managed by the Ontario Provincial government. Part of an historic fur trade route, this waterway park features several scenic diabase-capped mesas, as well as several types of rare and unusual plants. There are no visitor facilities, but backcountry camping or car camping is permitted. |
